MY OJT BLOG

On-the-Job Training (OJT) is delivered while an individual is performing tasks or processes related to their particular occupation. The employee typically performs tasks that are essential to their job function with the supervision of a manager, coach or mentor. This type of training is typically used to broaden an employee's skill set and to increase productivity.

Good day! I am Jonniel F. Arsaga and I am a student of Northern Iloilo State University (NISU) Lemery Campus. I'm currently a fourth year student, studying Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT). As we accomplished our last semester in fourth year we are required to take an On-the-Job Training for us to be prepared in real world after school. We are interning at Rural Health Unit(RHU) Lemery, Iloilo, together with my co- intern Rose Mary Dela Cruz. Our OJT Coordinator Sir Rene D. Arduo introduce us to ourTraining Supervisor Dr. Helen Grace Palmejar and to other employees of RHU. After that they warmly welcome us and orient us on what will be our task inside the RHU office. 

I started my OJT training on February 06, 2023 in Rural Health Unit. In my first day, I feel nervous and shy because we do not know the people inside the RHU Office and how to start approaching them. But time goes by the nervousness and shyness are  become less because they are all approachable and easy to mingle. On the next day, our training supervisor give us some paperworks to be done by writing some information of the patients in the log book and encode it to the computer. Also we asked to look for the old documents of the patients in order to them to know if they have a record in their past check up.

In my first month of OJT training at RHU, I have so much experience and learnings. I can say, I'm happy and fulfilled, being a part of RHU team even though we are OJT trainees. I could probably say that I really learned a lot of things here. From the moment I set my feet on this place, i know I will be facing different challenges on being a part of this team but at the same time i know that i will learn new things regarding the possible work that I will be doing in the office. I also learned how to focus and be serious in working as we consider ourselves as a real employee in this department.
